Just a few months after announcing their engagement, Taya Smith and Ben Gaukrodger got married on March 22, 2018, in a private yet stunningly romantic ceremony.
Taya looked timeless and beautiful in her Kendel gown from the Liz Martinez Barcelona 2016 collection. A beautifully beaded bodice with intricate detailing, followed by a fitted silk skirt and elegant train.
Taya described the lead up to their special day as ‘little kisses from heaven’, with everything falling into place and making their dreams come true. Their day truly looked like a storybook fairytale, and we are just exciting that Taya chose one of our dresses to make her wedding dreams come true.
Beautiful Shaked and Elad met working at a bar, dated and then parted ways, knowing that if it was meant to be, they would find their way back to one another. And of course, they did. When they rekindled, they knew it was meant to be and on an important trip to New York, considering to relocate from Israel, Elad proposed to Shaked, completely surprising her.
What they didn’t know was shortly after the proposal corona would break its way into the world, but that didn’t stop them. They decided they would get married in 2021 to avoid any disappointment. Then Elad had an idea, as Israel decided events were allowed again, he thought, why not get married where we worked, at the bar of the hotel. Shaked loved the idea, and within a month they planned their dream wedding.
Having their special day in a sentimental location, with both staff and guests being their closest, the bride and groom were truly surrounded by everyone that loves and cares about them. Not only that, but their wedding, without trying, ended up being unconventional and exactly what represents the two as a couple. The style was elegant and natural, with cotton and warm pastel flora decorating the tables and room.
Shaked spent a long time searching the internet for her dream dress feeling uninspired, until she came across a photographer who happened to photograph her dream dress. She immediately searched for the designer, and booked an appointment at Liz Martinez. The dress was Bulent, from the Istanbul 2019 collection. With a plunging neckline, thin straps, and gorgeous 3D floral appliques adorning the bodice, the skirt is a simple sheer tulle with polka dot detailing. Simple and elegant, Shaked looked absolutely stunning, and said she felt like the dress was made for her.
The stunning couple want to let anyone due to get married to know that it’s definitely a difficult time, but whether it be 250 or 10 people attending, your day will be special no matter what, as long as you are surrounded by love and focus on what’s important, you and your partner. And mostly important, to smile and enjoy yourself!
Nine months after groom Michael traveled to Miami to find Raquel, a girl he met back in college in Boston, he popped the question in Peurto Rico. From a risky yet romantic gesture, the couple was set to plan their wedding.
Inspired by Raquel’s family heritage and personal connection, they decided to get married in Peru. The weekend-long celebration took place in 2017, with the parties leading up to their special day full of colour and elegant detailing.
The next day they woke up to their wedding day. Raquel wore the beautiful Collette, from collection Morocco 2017. The stunning gown is adorned in floral applique on the bodice and a big tulle skirt. Her stunning veil matched the wedding gown, including the applique detailing.
Their six hundred guests were treated to a traditional Jewish wedding ceremony, followed by a reception that took place in a clear cube. The room was decorated with flowers overhead and romantic lighting, and the DJ kept the crowd dancing until early hours in the morning. Those left were even treated to a typical Peurto Rican breakfast, reminiscent of their engagement while complimenting the Peruvian and Asian dishes that were served throughout the night.
It was love at first sight for this Liz Martinez couple, when they were set up on a blind date back in 2008. Portia has graced the runway for designers and on her wedding day she chose to wear a traditional Liz Martinez gown, with her own edgy twist.
As a little girl, Portia had dreamed of a dress just like this, and said it was the first one she tried on and knew it was the one. With carefully embroidered floral appliques and a train to match, she felt like a true Liz Martinez princess. Dress Aniella, from collection Paris 2018, looked absolutely stunning on our LM bride.
The fairytale event took place in Dorset 2018, for their 10 year anniversary. A day so effortlessly chic and romantic, surrounded with love, friends, and family. The couple both love good food, and made sure the focal point of their reception was the delicious food, a menu designed specifically for the event.
Portia’s wedding tip is to take a step back with your special partner and take in all of the love in the room, and from the photos, it is clear that the room was abounding with love. When it comes to your special day, remember to take in every moment, enjoy, eat, and let the drinks flow!
Molly McCook and John Krause spent the course of their relationship sharing adventures together, visiting the zoo in every city they visited, so deciding to share a lifetime of adventures together was all the more reason to officially start the beginning of their forever.
Inspired by their favourite adventure, they got married at the California Zoo surrounded by friends and family, and wildlife. Molly chose her dream dress because of the fairy-like layers of sparkle that look like branches, a design she found reminiscent of the location of her special day.
She chose the Celine dress from the Liz Martinez Lisbon 2018 collection. A deep-v neckline adorned in silver embroidery, lots of tulle and a belted waist with the same beautifully intricate detailing.
After choosing the perfect spot and the perfect dress the couple were able to spend their day surrounded by those they love most, a day that exuded romance and fun, they were just excited to be able to go home and spend forever together.
Michaela and Love created their own wedding-like vow renewal overlooking New York City, and funnily enough, if it weren’t for COVID, they might not have even considered the event.
An intimate event of eight guests at their dream venue, Michaela and Love jumped on the opportunity at The 620 Loft & Garden to celebrate an afternoon of love and four years of marriage. With bohemian touches, a tented lounge was created complete with a record player and cocktails.
And the special touch? The couple didn’t have a photographer at their wedding in 2016, but this time, Amy Anaiz photographed the special moment, one they can now treasure forever and share with their children.
Michaela fell in love with the feminine and unique design of her Liz Martinez dress, and despite thinking she would never be one to wear a veil, she fell in love with the matching veil to her dress. Michaela wore Bulent, from the stunning SS 2019 Istanbul collection. An ivory dress adorned in flower appliques on the bodice, and a full tulle skirt with subtle dotted detailing on the outer layer.
This story of love reminds us that celebrations, dream dresses and dream locations don’t have to end after the wedding, because love has no expiration date, and even years later, there are reasons to celebrate. Even if that reason is just love itself.
The intimate celebrate was spent with loved ones, and had a backdrop just as epic as their love story.
Shahar had been living in New York for a while, and May reached out on Facebook groups of Israeli’s living in New York asking for advice before her big move. Shahar offered to help, and just so happened to be living right next to May’s hotel. The meant to be couple met when she arrived, and have been together ever since.
What couldn’t have been expected was what weddings would look like in 2020, and May and Shahar’s special day was no exception, after cancelling their plans and locations twice, and then deciding to plan again within two days just before a second lockdown in Israel.
They did it, and it was perfect. The boho chic theme was felt from May’s bouquet, to the ceremony and into the reception. Their unique style could be felt in every detail, and May knew that to top it all off, she wanted to wear the Alina gown, part of our Amour 2020 collection. May looked comfortable and beautiful in her one sleeve satin dress, flowing down and a high slit in the skirt. She paired the gown with blue stilettos reminiscent of those Carrie Bradshaw wore to her Sex and the City wedding, fitting for a couple that met and live in NYC.
Love can be felt through the photos, and despite the difficulties in place with Covid-19, the beautiful LM couple had the most beautiful day and night, one to remember, and planned a dream in only a few hours.
May’s advice to any bride and groom planning their special day is to surround yourself with love, with people that are always there to help and support you, and to dream what you want and make it happen. All in good energy and driven by love, which is exactly how their day looked.
They met at a nightclub in 2013, and after three short months, Lydia finally decided to reply to Toby’s message sent after the night they first crossed paths. They then went on their first date, and as they say, the rest was history.
To top off all of the romance, Toby proposed to Lydia on their skiing trip in the Dolomites, Italy. Like a scene from a movie, he had it all figured out and got down on one knee in the snow, on the mountain.
Inspired by the rustic beauty of Middleton Lodge, their wedding was abundant with nature and flora, with the theme continuing on into the brides dress itself. Adorned in floral applique, her tulle Liz Martinez gown and veil matched perfectly with the romantic theme of the wedding. Lydia wore the Ariel dress on her special day, from collection Spring Summer 19, and looked absolutely stunning.
The room was adorned in wood and rattan furniture, candlesticks and greenery, the perfect rustic yet romantic wedding. To top it all off, the menu was curated from the venues very own kitchen garden as well as local produce.
Their day opened with a yoga class, shifting the nervous energy and preparing the bride for the beginning of her forever. To this beautiful couple, marriage means a promise to one another, and to be each other’s number one fan. We couldn’t agree more and are so grateful to have been a part of this beautiful day.
Childhood sweethearts Lacey Turner and Matt Kay ignored the traditional rules when getting married and planned an Ibiza wedding of their dreams. After spending most of their lives together, not only were they sure about spending the rest of their lives together, but they were even more excited than when they started dating.
The beautiful, laid back ceremony took place at sunset at an exclusive resort in Ibiza, with no nerves and only excitement radiating from both the bride and groom. The reception flowed into the night with tapas style dishes past around throughout the event. Stunning colourful florals and boho touches created the perfect arch at the end of the aisle, with the same playful theme following into the reception.
Lacey’s stunning dress, Collette, from collection Morocco 2017. The bodice decorated in 3D flower applique, a big tulle skirt and the same detailing spread throughout and down the train. With a playful gown exuding romance, it was the perfect fit for the romantic, one-of-a-kind wedding.
We absolutely adore Lacey and Matt, and are so grateful to have been a part of their fairytale.
After dating for four years, the actors were on a vacation in Capri, and Nicholas got down on one knee on a boat in the midst of a cave in the Blue Grotto. After dreaming of a jungle style wedding, the Zika virus broke out and with only three months until their wedding date, both the venue and design had to change.
In the dream scene the air was relaxed and food, drinks and music filled the entire reception all through the night, realizing that location was hardly a factor in creating their dream wedding.Kelsey stunned in her Amy dress, the dress that opened fashion week in Australia, 2016. A beautiful A-line silhouette and a deep-V neckline, detailed with intricate beading and sparkle, she was a true princess on her special day.
With the detailing of the occasion inspired by the Mediterranean, olive branches were used in Kelsey’s bouquet and in the flower girls crowns, and the theme flowed into the aisle for the ceremony, layered in Mediterranean rugs and terracotta pots. Inspired by Capri, a sentimental location for the couple, the ceremony and reception were decked in little reminders of Italy, including limoncello’s to open the event.
The stunning photos ooze style, romance, and elegance, and are a great reminder that love isn’t created just for the wedding day, but for a lifetime of together.
