Where was the wedding?

We got married in Èze, France. It’s a medieval village in the French Riviera and on the Terrance of Château de La Chèvre d’Or!

Tell us how was your wedding day

The wedding day was everything we ever dreamed of and so much more! Garrett and I got engaged in November of last year and originally had the plans of eloping while in France for a good friends wedding. Our families were slightly bummed about the idea, until they were all invited to join, which made for the most intimate, amazing day. We had 19 of our immediate family members join us for many celebrations throughout the week: a dinner at La Chèvre d’Or, a boat day, and of course our wedding ceremony. It was a once in a lifetime week and we feel incredibly grateful!

What was the the inspiration behind the design of your wedding?

Once we decided on the wedding venue, La Chèvre d’Or, all the inspiration came easy. With a beautiful open air hotel there are lots of gardens filled with sculptures, waterfalls, flowers, and trees – There are a set of terraces which have an unbelievable view over the Mediterranean, and all the natural pastel colors melted together on their own! I wanted to accentuate what was naturally there, so I pulled in light florals and minimal decor. I also wanted some lavender in the mix, as it was in season and perfumed the area on its own!

Why did you choose to wear Liz Martinez on your big day?

This can turn into a long winded answer… but I first saw a Liz Martinez gown on a model in Vail, CO back in 2018. I was single at the time, but remember loving the gown so much so I took a picture of the model (not knowing yet who the designer was). Fast forward to last November after getting engaged, I resurfaced the photo, found the Wedding dress store in Vails Instagram, because they had since permanently closed – scrolled all the way back to 2018 and the picture of the very model, where I saw they tagged Liz Martinez! I ended up emailing Liz a picture of the gown and asking if she still made it or if there was any way I could see her other dresses, and she responded saying there was a trunk show in Denver a few weeks later.

I went to the trunk show, not having any intentions of buying a dress (as it was my first appointment!) and every single dress I tried on, I fell in love with!! I wish I could have bought 10 – I loved them so much. The way they were so light and almost painted on my body, yet so beautiful and delicate. The Raven was the last dress I tried on, and the second I saw myself in the mirror, I knew it was the one! It was perfectly unique, a match for my venue and made me feel unbelievably confident and beautiful.
