How was the proposal?

The proposal was in lockdown on our 7th year anniversary at Cliveden house where I thought we are taking our dog for a walk by the river. It was the most special day of my life. We came back home to 350 red roses organised secretly with the help of my sister and our best friends who lived next door to us.

Where was the wedding?

The wedding was in the Maldives- Niyama Private Island

Tell us about your wedding day

The wedding day was utterly magical, we had 35 of our dearest and nearest family and friends who stayed at Niyama. We planned everything to be personalised for our guests, from their stamped flip flops to their beach bags with a Polaroid with a hand written note on their big mirror in their villas. We had planned a 3 and half day full of activities, from meet and greet welcome dinner to rehearsals dinner and hangover white BBQ lunch after the wedding. We even watched the world cup as we had so many international guests with their football Ts. It was more than what we ever dreamed off.

What was the inspiration behind the design and the colour theme of your wedding?

I chose all natural colours as I didn’t want to compete with the fifty shades of blues in Maldives, the scenery was breath-taking, white sand, blue sea and sky, what more can you ask for?

Why did you choose to wear Liz Martinez on your wedding day and why did you choose this specific dress?

Liz Martinez has been my favourite wedding designer since I can remember. She makes dreams into reality (literally). I always use to look at her dresses and search for “store locators” where there was no retailers in London, however only a couple of months after I got engaged, I went on her website again and saw she has a trunk show in London. I literally dropped my laptop and jumped up and down like a child!

How did the dress make you feel?

I chose 2 of Liz Martinez dresses and a couple of others to try on, I first tried the Ariel dress and I KNEW instantly this was it, suddenly I could imagine the whole day, walking down the aisle, saying my wedding vows , our first dance, flashback of all Disney princess, how much I didn’t want to take it off and wear it back home (on the tube). This is how much I loved the dress. The worst part was I had to wait almost 2 years to get to wear my dream gown because of the pandemic. A dear friend of mine is getting married and I can’t wait for her to trial Liz Martinez dresses!
